Organized by the Ministry of Petroleum of Iran, the Iran International Oil Show (IOS) has grown steadily in scale since its inception in 1995. Today, it has evolved into the largest and most influential exhibition for oil, gas, and petrochemical equipment in Iran and the broader Middle East region.

Iran’s oil and gas industry is a pillar sector of its local economy. The country currently produces approximately 2 million barrels of crude oil per day, making it the second-largest oil exporter within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). It boasts proven oil reserves of 12.2 billion tons, accounting for 1/9 of the global total and ranking fifth worldwide. Its proven natural gas reserves stand at 26 trillion cubic meters, representing about 16% of the global total—second only to Russia and the largest in the world.

Furthermore, the large-scale construction of major oil and gas projects in Iran, coupled with the regular maintenance of in-service production equipment, presents exceptional opportunities for Chinese manufacturers of oil, gas, and petrochemical equipment to enter the Iranian market.
